COVID-19 Response Update - Virtual Public Meetings

Covid 19 Update

Our staff and elected officials remain committed to serving residents and continuing the services of the government during this time of social distancing.

While town buildings remain closed to the public, this week we will resume holding public meetings to continue the work of our elected boards, committees and commissions. Public meetings will be held on the Zoom platform unless otherwise designated. All virtually held public meetings will comply with Governor Baker’s recent order regarding the Open Meeting Law, and federal state and local guidance for social distancing.

The first meeting using the virtual platform will be conducted by the Town Center Committee on Thursday, March 19th at 7pm. As with all public meetings, residents are welcomed and encouraged to attend (virtually). Log-in information for all virtual meetings will be posted along with the meeting agenda and when possible, prior to the meeting on the town’s social media platforms.

While different than an in-person meeting, the Zoom platform allows residents to call into the meeting in real-time, participate through video and see elected officials/documents from their home devices. This platform was selected by the town's Cable Committee due to its funcationality. The platform also records the proceedings so residents can review the public meeting on the town’s Web site, social media platforms and/or the local cable channel (You Tube) at a later date. At this time there are additional plans to have the virtual meetings broadcast on Facebook Live.
