The Library Trustees are accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Committee. The position will be an appointed position until the next Town Election to be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Letters of interest or applications need to be submitted to by 4pm on Tuesday, October 12th to be considered. Applications can be submitted via the following methods:

  • Dropped off in person during normal business hours to the Select Board office located in the Slade Building at 7 Main Street.
  • Mailed to The Town of Hubbardston, Attn: Select Board, 7 Main Street # 3, Hubbardston, MA 0145
  • Emailed to bos@hubbardstonma.us

Description of Duties

  • Establish written policies governing library activities and services.
  • Engage in on-going planning to assess the needs and role of the library in the community.
  • Ensure that the library meets the community's needs.
  • Work on preparation of the annual library budget and its adoption by the Town.
  • Monitor and oversee maintenance of the buildings and regularly review facility needs.
  • Hire and evaluate the Library Director and work on job classifications for all staff.
  • Promote, with the Friends of the Hubbardston Library, the library and act as library advocates in the community.
  • Study and support legislation which will benefit the library and the larger community.
