What is an Unenrolled Voter?

  • An "Unenrolled" voter is the same as what most people call an "Independent."
  • It refers to the fact that the voter is not enrolled in a political party (i.e., Democrat or Republican) but they are still registered to vote.
  • At a primary election, an "Unenrolled" voter must choose one ballot on which to vote (i.e. either Democrat or Republican).
