Capital Improvement Plan Participatory Community Choice Program

The Capital Improvement Planning Committee and Financial Management Team are excited to announce the launch of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Participatory Community Choice Capital Program! This program is a unique opportunity for you to have a say in how Hubbardston's capital improvement funds are spent.

The CIP is a strategic plan identifying and prioritizing capital items over five years. The CIP includes roads, sidewalks, municipal infrastructure, vehicles, open spaces, parks, and more. The CIP is updated every year, and we invite you to participate this year.

There are two ways you can get involved:

  1. Propose your ideas for capital projects: You can do this by filling out the Participatory Community Choice Capital Program Google Form. Projects submitted through the program must be one-time expenses for a municipal purpose or on town land. Deadline: November 1, 2023
     
    1. When submitting your proposal, please be sure to:
      1. Describe the project in detail.
      2. Explain how the project would benefit the community.
      3. Estimate the cost of the project.
      4. Provide any other relevant information.
      5. Be respectful, appropriate, and collaborative.
         
  2. Attend the Capital Improvement Planning Committee meetings: These meetings will be held throughout the fall/winter to discuss all proposed projects and get feedback. There are even 2 Vacant Committee Seats if this is of interest to you.

After the submission deadline, proposals submitted by community members will be reviewed by a group of town staff members. The group will evaluate each proposal to assess its safety, feasibility, cost, and benefit to the town ahead of submission to the Capital Improvement Planning Committee for Review and potential inclusion in the CIP.

Submissions do not guarantee funding or inclusion in the five-year capital plan. The Town of Hubbardston reserves the right to refuse any submissions.
